“Here’s to the crazy ones, the misfits, the rebels, the troublemakers, the round pegs in the square holes… the ones who see things differently — they’re not fond of rules… You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them, but the only thing you can’t do is ignore them because they change things… they push the human race forward, and while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius, because the ones who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world, are the ones who do.” Steve Jobs
Whilst that quote is highly uplifting and has inspired many, let’s look at the daily reality of these “crazy ones”.
My belief is that our society is not equipped to embrace them.
Often times, the marginal one will only be embraced by the mass once he/she has demonstrated success on a sustainable Time period and been showing a “track record” or has gained “traction”
If you are a visionary, by definition, this means you see what others cannot see. You have the gift of the sight where the majority will not even pay attention.
You on the other hand, you see the early signs, you can see it coming together. This sooo makes sense to you and yet you are not really getting validated.
However until you get there, what do you do? Who do you let in or not?
And this is the crux of the matter.
You can’t seek validation from a crowd that will not get you.
You can’t be a leader and act like a follower.
First of all it is about valuing your sense of self and who you are and what you believe in.
Second it is about surrounding yourself with the right support to help you move forward, your tribe, your people, your “raving fans” even as a marketer used to call it.
Why ?
Well as a starter unless you love being a lone wolf, it is important to get support and the right kind.
Also Because wanting to conform and fit in is what is going to take your sense of self away.
We all want to belong and be appreciated of course.
But at what cost?
I have seen many stay in the wrong job, the wrong relationship, the wrong marriage even just because they were too afraid to listen to their inner voice, to their sense of self.
Why?
Because the need to conform was stronger.
However it never really works. Something feels off. Not right. And at point or another, it is going to come out.
Particularly if you set your intention to upgrade your Life, driven by the ambition to lead a very happy Life. Then what doesn’t fit starts falling off which might look and feel like drama to start with.
When actually this is the beginning of your freedom.
Freedom of being.
Freedom of making your vision a reality whether it is business or personal life.
